School of Seven Bells is apparently best classified as “dream-pop.” Although I’m not a huge fan of the genre—it’s a little too out there, even for me—I do like a few of the songs on this album.
The band is made of up of Claudia and Alejandra Deheza, twin sisters from Brooklyn, of all places. Actually, I guess it kind of figures that all kinds of crazy music is still being made in New York.
My favorite song off Alpinisms is Half Asleep, hands down. I like it so much, in fact, that I’m even going to include a Youtube embed of the music video for your viewing enjoyment after the jump.
